Computer Parts
Computer parts:-
There are four main parts of a computer such as CPU, monitor,
mouse, keyboard etc.
A. CPU( Control Processing Unit):-
The brain or
brain of a computer is called. Also known as e-brain, processor, core processor
or microprocessor. Both CPU and memory are located on the motherboard. The
motherboard is additionally called the system board or main board. The world's
first processor was built in 1970 by the Intel Company. The CPU maintains and
controls all instructions received from software and hardware on the computer.
The CPU has two
parts:-
Arithmetic Logical Unit (ALU): Performs arithmetic and logical
functions.
Control Unit (CU): Decodes instructions from memory and
increments them.
Currently, two types of CPUs currently run on 32-bit and
64-bit.
Example: Intel and AMD are the world's leading processor
manufacturers. Intel Pentium, Intel dual core, Intel core2duos, Intel i3, Intel
i5, Intel i7, AMD A10 series, etc.
B. Monitor: -
It is a display unit of a computer that
displays text, video or photos etc. on screen. The main function of the monitor
is to display user information. The monitor screen is made of LCD or LED. Older monitors were made of CRT (cathode ray
tube). The size of the monitor is measured diagonally or diagonally across the
monitor. The output seen on the monitor is called an electronic copy.
C. keyboard: -
A keyboard typewriter is a set of keys that
are used to enter data into a computer. The construction of the keyboard
structure matches that of Christopher Lotham Shoals. The original keyboard used
to have 84 keys, but a standard keyboard has 101 to 104 buttons. Board types: QWERTY,
AZERTY and Dvorak keyboards. The QWERTY keyboard is the most commonly used.
The keys found on the keyboard can be divided into the
following three parts: -
Alphanumeric keys: It consists of letters and numeric keys.
Punctuation keys: comma, colon, semicolon etc.
Special keys: Function keys, arrow keys, control keys, caps
lock keys, etc. Special
keys are the most important from the examination point
of view.
Function keys: - These keyboards are at the top of the
keyboard and range from F1 to F12. Function keys are typically used with the
Ctrl key, Alt key, Shift key, or Windows key, or they can also be used directly
on some computers.
F 1: Mostly is used as a help key. Using the Windows key + F
1 opens the Windows Help and Support Centre.
F2: to change the name of a marked file or folder, the print
preview opens when using Ctrl + F2 in Microsoft Word, the document window is
opened using Alt + Ctrl + F2 in the Microsoft window.
F3: Open the search window. Using the Shift + F 3 key in
Microsoft Word, the text from above converts the text from lowercase to
lowercase and the first letter of each word can be capitalized.
F4: The currently active window closes when Alt + F 4 is
used. Alt + F 4 key is used to close Windows.
F 5: Reloads or updates desktop and internet browsers. Microsoft
PowerPoint turns on the slide show.
F 6: Using Ctrl + Shift + F 6 opens a replacement Microsoft
Word document. When the F 6 key is used in an Internet browser, the mouse
cursor moves directly to the address bar.
F 7: In general, the F 7 key is used to make spelling or
grammar corrections in Microsoft Word and Outlook. Thesaurus confirms the
extended word using Shift + F 7.
F8: The computer enters safe mode when F8 is used when the
computer starts. F8 is also used to perform recovery on some Windows computers.
F9: Used to update Microsoft text documents. Microsoft
Outlook is also used to send and receive email.
F10: Microsoft activates the menu bar of open applications in
Windows. The highlighted icons of the F10 key work on files or Internet links
that you click with the right mouse button.
F11: Used to convert all modern Internet browsers to full
screen mode or remove them from full screen mode.
F12: Microsoft Word to open Save As Document Window, Shift +
F12 saves Microsoft text documents (does ctrl + S exactly)
Caps Lock Key - All fonts (characters) typed on the keyboard
are maximized.
Start key: Pressing the cursor puts you at the beginning of
the line.
Last Key: Pressing the cursor reaches the end of the line.
Numeric lock - The numeric keypad starts working, and when
inactive, acts like arrow
keys.
Shift key: when working with capital letters a small letter
is formed and when used without capital letters, it acts as a capital letter, The
Shift + delete key is used to permanently delete a file or folder in Windows.
Backspace - used to remove left and right characters from
backspace. If the backspace key is held down, the entire line is removed.
Delete keys: Pressing the delete key deletes the right and
left letters, deletes all selected characters, and deletes all selected files.
Space bar - This is the longest key at the bottom of the
keyboard, which is placed horizontally on the keyboard. It is also called a
blank key because once used, a space equal to an alphabet is cleared.
Enter key: Also commonly known as the Return key. With the
enter key, the cursor moves to the beginning of the next line. The use of enter
key in Internet browsers is related to giving commands to process written
words.
Tab key: This key is used to give equal space to a word. Alt
+ Tab keys are used to choose between applications currently running on the
monitor. You can change the level of the item or paragraph in the hierarchy by
using the tab key. Once you use the tab key, the cursor moves 0.5 inches in MS
Word.
Arrow Key: A keyboard button with arrow keys is called an
arrow key.
Combination keys - Keys used in addition to function keys to
create shortcuts are called combination keys.
Only alphanumeric keys (A to Z and 0 to 9) are used to name
the folder or file.

Any file name has two parts: - file name and extension name.
File Extension Name:
.bmp - This is
the name of the brush file extension.
.txt: is the
extension name of a notebook file.
.docx: is the
name of the file extension in Microsoft Office Word 2010.
.xlsx - This
is the name of the file extension in Microsoft Office Excel 2010.
D. Mouse:-
It is a
type of input device. The mouse is known as a pointing device. The arrow
pointer that appears on the desktop is controlled by the mouse. In the
operating system, the mouse is used to easily access any part of the screen. Its main function is to order or order the
computer, move the cursor to the corresponding location to write, select any
file, etc.
Mouse Type: Laser, round, rubber hair and optical
Mouse terminology: single click, double click, drag, etc.
Double mouse click: is done to open or run any file.
Double-clicking any word in a Microsoft Word file selects that word.
Mouse dragging: Move the mouse by pressing the left mouse
button.
Mouse movements on the monitor can usually be seen through
the arrow symbol
Other parts of computer:
Speaker, printer, scanner, pen drive, etc.
Printer:
dot matrix printer
Drum printer
Inkjet Printer: This printer prints data very quickly by
spraying small ink dots on the paper.
LaserJet Printer: It is a type of printer without any effect.
It is the fastest working printer.
The copy on the printer is called hard copy while the copy on
the monitor is called hard copy.

DPI: DPI means dots per inch

(Input device) Input device: The parts of the computer with
which the user enters any data into the computer. For example: keyboard,
scanner, mouse, pen drive
(Output device) Output device: The parts of a computer that
allow the user to view or receive data on a computer in the form of
information. For example: monitor, speaker, printer.
